The award-winning 47LM670S features Local Dimming Technology, enabling users to control the brightness of each region of the TV screen separately. This technique improves the TV’s energy efficiency. Additionally, the LED light source is configured in a direct line thus electricity consumption is significantly lowered. The two related functions are collectively called Smart Energy Saving Technology.

The 47LM670S emerged the winner in the large screen category and was formally recognized as the most energy efficient TV with a score of A++ after being evaluated as the most efficient product among all three categories.

For its evaluation of TVs in the European market, SEAD separated products by screen size with small screens (below 27 inches), mid-sized screens (29 to 42 inches) and large screens (42 inches and above).

SEAD is a CEM-affiliated multinational government organisation that was established in 2010 to help transform the global market for efficient equipment and appliances. The initiative has spanned to 14 countries, including Australia, France, Germany, India, Japan, Korea, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Each year, one product from a selected category is chosen from each region. This year, the spotlight was on the TV category, and SEAD conducted a thorough evaluation of the offerings from each manufacturer.

LG CINEMA 3D SMART TV NAMED MOST ENERGY EFFICIENT TV AT IFA 2012

European Energy Evaluation Organization Names LG CINEMA 3D Smart TV Most Energy Efficient Product in European Market

Sep11, 2012 – LG Electronics (LG) received Global Efficiency Medal from the Super-efficientEquipment and Appliance Deployment (SEAD) Initiative at an awards ceremony that took place at IFA 2012. LG’s CINEMA 3D Smart TV (model number 47LM670S) was selected to be winner for the European region by SEAD for its remarkable energy efficiency.

SEAD is a CEM-affiliated multinational government organization that was established in 2010 to help transform the global market for efficient equipment and appliances. The initiative has spanned to 14 countries, including Australia, France, Germany, India, Japan, Korea, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States. SEAD evaluates the energy efficiency of TVs, monitors, computers, home appliances and lights sold in North America, Europe, India and Australia. Each year, one product from a selected category is chosen from each region. This year, the spotlight was on the TV category, and SEAD conducted a thorough evaluation of the offerings from each manufacturer.

“We’re delighted to be recognized by SEAD,” said Seog-ho Ro, Executive Vice President and Head of TV Business in LG Electronics Home Entertainment Company. “This distinction is another indication that LG has a very solid position in the TV industry. We already have strong, differentiated 3D technology, innovative smart features and a progressive slim bezel design. However, now we’re also starting to see a lot of praise for the energy efficiency in our large screen TVs.”

The 47LM670S features Local Dimming Technology, enabling users to control the brightness of each region of the TV screen separately. This technique improves the TV’s energy efficiency. Additionally, because the LED light source is configured in a direct line, electricity consumption is significantly lowered. Collectively, the TV’s energy-related functions are termed Smart Energy Saving Technology by the company, and they eliminate unnecessary energy waste while maximizing energy stinginess.

For its evaluation of TVs in the European market, SEAD separated products by screen size with small screens (below 27 inches), mid-sized screens (29 to 42 inches) and large screens (42 inches and above). LG’s CINEMA 3D Smart TV emerged the winner in the large screen category and was formally recognized as the most energy efficient TV with a score of A++ after being evaluated as the most efficient product among all three categories.
