Blue Coat Appoints Albert Kuo as VP of Field Operations for APAC

Web security and WAN optimisation specialist, Blue Coat Systems, Inc, has announced that Albert Kuo, formerly a HP executive, has been appointed general manager and vice president of field operations for Asia Pacific.

Prior to Blue Coat, Kuo was vice president and general manager of Asia Pacific and Japan in the Enterprise Security Products business unit at HP where he managed HP’s fastest growing business unit that generates $80 million in revenue.

Experienced Executive from Leading Computer Firm Brings Operational Excellence and Strategic Sales Expertise

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, September 11, 2012 – Blue Coat Systems, Inc., a market leader in Web security and WAN optimization, today announced that Albert Kuo, a former HP executive, has been appointed general manager and vice president of field operations for Asia Pacific.  Mr. Kuo has more than 15 years of experience driving sales success in the Asia Pacific region.  In his new role, he will be responsible for all aspects of setting, managing and executing sales and channel strategy in the region.  He will report directly to Marc Andrews, senior vice president of worldwide field operations at Blue Coat.

Prior to joining Blue Coat, Mr. Kuo was vice president and general manager for Asia Pacific and Japan in the Enterprise Security Products business unit at HP.  In this role, he managed HP’s fastest growing business unit with responsibility for $80 million in revenue.  Mr. Kuo joined HP through its acquisition of ArcSight, a leader in security and compliance management solutions.  At ArcSight, he led field operations for Asia Pacific and was responsible for setting strategy and executing sales, marketing, channel partnerships and business development across the region.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Kuo led the teams responsible for building and growing BEA’s largest global and enterprise accounts business and BEA’s Global Alliance Partners in Asia Pacific and Japan, where he introduced best practices for account planning and coverage, field enablement, and large deal management.  He has also served in business development roles at Reuters Enterprise Solutions and as the general manager of Greater China for TIBCO Finance Technology.
