Apple Special Event Confirmed on October 23

Apple‘s media invite messages are always cryptic. And this one for the October 23 special event is no different. To be held at California Theatre in San Jose, this is where the rumoured iPad mini is expected to be revealed.

Reading between the lines of the message headline – “We’ve got a little more to show you”, Apple could also be revealing the new 13″ MacBook Pro with Retina Display as believed by some quarters. “Little” referring to the smaller 7.85-inch iPad. And “more” perhaps referring to the Retina MacBook Pro.

Or perhaps “more” could be an quick update to the new iPad, integrated with the Lightning port? Who knows?

The existence of the iPad mini is no longer being debated. Had a chat with a case-maker yesterday, and he confirms iPad specs were supplied under NDA for third party manufacturers for a couple of months already.

Whatever the case (pun intended), I’m excited about the iPad mini! Are you?
