If there was one game that has taken the world by storm (some say even Mars), Rovio Entertainment‘s Angry Birds has got to take the cake. The popular feathered catapult-powered game has been a phenomenal success on mobile platforms like iOS, Android, and Symbian (what? no BlackBerry?), and on the browser with Google Chrome.

The original Angry Birds has spawned sequels namely Angry Birds Friends, Angry Birds Rio, Angry Birds Seasons and most recently Angry Birds Space. The games have been downloaded over 1 billion times, since its introduction in November 2009.
Now, in a special collaboration with Samsung, Rovio has brought the successful game title to Samsung’s SMART TV platform. The collaboration took a year to integrate the game with the SMART TV’s Motion Control technology.
I got to experience the game on the big screen for the first time in a special hands-on session at Best Denki, 1 Utama together with other influencers last weekend. Hosted by the lovely all-women Samsung marketing team, we were presented with an overview and demonstration of Samsung SMART TV by Samsung AV Division’s Michelle Kwan.
Influencers got a chance to experience the Angry Birds TV Game App for Samsung TV for the very first time.
With hand gestures, users control gameplay features including initiating the slingshot and activating unique features of each bird.
Samsung also plans to bring Video-on-Demand Angry Birds animations developed by Rovio soon. Angry Birds for SMART TV is available on all Smart Interaction enabled devices.
Influencers had a chance to participate in a Angry Birds challenge. Players with the highest scores in a pre-set level wins a prize. Call it blind luck, I won the challenge with just one try, catapulting to victory with a score of over 60,000. I’ve never played Angry Birds on a 55-inch TV before this. Not even a practice run.
