[Breaking] DiGi to Offer nano-SIM from 26 September 2012
Malaysia’s yellow-est telco, DiGi has announced that it will make the nano-SIM or 4FF to market beginning 26 September 2012 in anticipation of the impending launch of the Apple iPhone 5. The nano-SIM will cost just RM20 and will be available in selected outlets in Klang Valley.
DiGi is the second telco in Malaysia to offer the nano-SIM after Maxis.
The nano-SIM is 40 percent smaller and 15 percent thinner (12.3 millimeters by 8.8 mm by 0.67 mm) than the current smallest micro-SIM design. The smaller form factor gives mobile phone manufacturers advantage of creating smaller, thinner devices.
As if to hint the coming of the iPhone 5, DiGi announced that the nano-SIM is free for any iPhone 5 when a buyer subscribes to DG Smart Plan or DG Postpaid Plus.
The nano-SIM will also be available in other DiGi outlets nationwide in early October 2012.
