Multimedia Spectacular For Olympic Opening

The Olympics 2012 opening ceremony in London was a blast! However, it got many people curious – Why are so many people holding those red blinking boards during the ceremony? Well, that mystery is solved. They were LED boards which were part of the ceremony presentation.

The presentation was done in honor of Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the world wide web. During the opening ceremony, these ‘pixel’ tablets lit up to generate video images that ran around the entire seating grid of the oval Olympic Stadium, one of which was a live tweet by Sir Tim Berners-Lee, “This is for everyone   @webfoundation @w3c“.

According to Will Case, creative director at Crystal, “the audience was literally part of the action”. This was because the audience holding these LED boards were instructed to move according to their instructors during the performance.

Come to think of it, this actually could make the Guinness World Records as the largest Human Video Screen………..

    well, according to the source, they stated ppl carrying a particular LED board that changes……so, i guess its a debatable subject…..
