Apple‘s latest iOS 6 Beta 4 released to developers today revealed a glaring omission – Google‘s native YouTube app that has come bundled with iOS since Day 1. Whether or not the omission continues the trend of de-Google-ising iOS (first with Google Maps), it may actually be better for users as Google has done little to update or improve the app all this while.

According to Apple, licensing to include the YouTube app in iOS has ended. Apple has confirmed that YouTube will work in Safari and that Google is working on a new YouTube app that will be available on the App Store.

Note: iOS 5 will not lose the bundled YouTube app.

I personally hardly use the bundled YouTube app on my iPad. How many of you out there actually use the native YouTube app? Do you usually access via browser?
