According to N4BB, the production of the first BlackBerry 10 device is ahead of schedule and may make its debut in late September. Originally believed to be announced in August and released to market by October, the BB10 device is reported to come in “a color never before seen on a BlackBerry.” Green?

The BB10 Dev Alpha device which was seeded to developers at BlackBerry World Orlando earlier this year, features a 4.2-inch screen with a sharp 1280-by-768-pixel resolution. The device shares design cues from the PlayBook, even powered by a TI OMAP processor similar to the one found in the tablet.

If the BB10 Dev Alpha device is anything to go by, hardware is least of RIM‘s worries. What’s remaining is the QNX-based BB10 OS, which we hope can go gold some time end of August to meet the rumoed September release.

Is RIM trying to steal some thunder before the next iPhone comes out? As you may have realized, timing IS everything.
