Acer Introduces Windows 8-powered Aspire S7 Premium Ultrabook

At Computex Taipei recently, Acer introduced its latest premium Windows 8-powered UltraBook – the Aspire S7 series. The top-of-the-line Ultrabook comes in two sizes – 13.3-inch and 11.6-inch, the thinnest and smallest respectively. These are te first slew of full HD touch Ultrabooks by the manufacturer.

The battle of UltraBooks is fast and furious, and as competition heats up, we see manufacturers also heading towards the upper end of the value spectrum. The Aspire S7 is a departure from the its first UltraBook effort – the Aspire S3.

Both new UltraBooks feature a sleek aluminium metallic unibody design and the larger model sports a glossy, sculpted glass cover ala HP Spectre 14. The unibody deign makes the S7 exceptionally thin and light.

Battery life, one the biggest, most important features in an UltraBook is an impressive 12 hours for the 13.3-inch model, and 9 hours for the 11.6-inch mode.

Other extras include Acer’s innovative Acer Twin Air cooling system to ensure the high performance UltraBook stays col at all times. The S7 also includes a light-sensing, backlit keyboard.

No specs have been detailed, nor availability but the new Aspire S7 will undoubtedly run a flavour of the 3rd generation Intel Core processors aka Ivy Bridge and feature Thunderbolt, SSD, and USB 3.0

The 13.3-inch model offers up to 12 hours of battery life, while the 11.6-inch model can run for up to 9 hours, to ensure a full day of on-demand productivity and media consumption from a single charge.

To make the best of the powerful performance components, Acer designed its innovative Acer Twin Air cooling system to produce efficient cooling and deliver the best thermal comfort. Acer’s S7 Series also features a light-sensing keyboard, which automatically detects changes in lighting conditions and adjusts the keyboard backlight brightness.

The new S7 range are singular ultra-mobile devices that blend performance, aesthetics and user-friendliness, giving modern day explorers the most complete and satisfying computing experience.
