March 27 marked a night of glitz and glamour at the most anticipated red carpet event of Pavilion Pit Stop 2012. Themed ‘A Glamorous Night of Fashion’, Pavilion KL in partnership with MasterCard Worldwide, played host to a thrilling, buzzing night in commemoration with the Malaysian F1 Grand Prix. Pavilion Pit Stop represents five adrenaline-charged pitstops – Fashion & Party Pit Stop, Shopping Pit Stop, Cars Pit Stop, Connection Pit Stop and Dining Pit Stop. Popular celebrities, corporate heavyweights, socialites, influential media and the city’s fashionistas mingled and celebrated with a high energy fashion show by Shanghai Tang and Karen Millen including a flawless musical tribute to Whitney Houston delivered by Malaysia’s diva Ning Baizura.

Our very own fashionista, Mildred Vanessa, was on the scene sipping GH Mumm champagne, rubbing shoulders with the stars and just absorbing the high-energy event like a sponge! She joined 400 other chic guest, enthralled by the latest Shanghai Tang collection called ‘The Rite of the Phoenix’. The event was the perfect occasion for Vertu to debut its Vertu Constellation Quest Ferrari phone, whose design was inspired by the Ferrari 458 Italia. Karen Millen also showcased their Spring/Summer 2012 collection.

F1 fanatics who attended the event were beyond excited at the prospect of winning a piece of the Caterham F1 car personally autographed by drivers Heikki Kolvaleinen, Vitaly Petrov and former Caterham F1 driver Jarno Trulli. The eventual winner of this priceless Caterham F1 memorabilia was Mr. Reza Ghazali, who was notably thrilled at his luck.

The dress code for the event was ‘A Touch of Karen Millen or Shanghai Tang’ and each best dressed winner received a Karen Millen iPad case or Shanghai Tang clutch respectively.

Many high-end retailers provided ‘special’ benefits to MasterCard cardholders at this year’s Pavilion Pit Stop Grand Prix sale. MasterCard cardholders enjoyed special discounts and privileges at participating retailers – Karen Millen, Canali, Zanotti, Shanghai Tang, Godiva, Tumi, Michael Kors, IWC Shaffhausen watches, Rolex watches, Coach, Vertu and Swiss Watch Gallery.

Malaysian top diva Ning Baizura performed a powerful rendition of the late Whitney Houston hits ‘I Will Love You Always’ and ‘I Want to Dance with Somebody’ in tribute to the late American singing legend, much to the crowd’s delight.

‘A Glamorous Night of Fashion’ hosted by Pavilion KL and MasterCard Worldwide in conjunction with Pavilion Pit Stop ran for its fourth consecutive year.

Celebrities and fashionistas treated to a stylish night at Pavilion Pit Stop

27 March 2012, Kuala Lumpur – For the fourth consecutive year, Pavilion KL continued its partnership with MasterCard Worldwide which presented the most anticipated red carpet event of Pavilion Pit Stop 2012. Themed ‘A Glamorous Night of Fashion’, the event reflected the pulsating hype and buzz of the Malaysian F1 Grand Prix. Celebrities, corporate heavyweights, influential media and the city’s most fashionable people rubbed shoulders at this exclusive event which saw a high-energy fashion show by international brands and a special musical tribute to Whitney Houston by Malaysia’s top diva Ning Baizura.

The 400 chic guests were also indulged with a fashion show by Shanghai Tang showcasing their latest collection called ‘The Rite of the Phoenix’. The glamorous affair was the perfect event to debut the new Vertu Constellation Quest Ferrari phone, whose design was inspired by the Ferrari 458 Italia. Karen Millen also showcased their Spring/Summer 2012 collection, an eclectic mood with abstract prints, intense tropical patterns and bold colors.

Speaking at the event were Joyce Yap, CEO-Retail of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, and Jim Cheah, Vice President and Senior Country Manager, Malaysia and Brunei, of MasterCard Worldwide. The fashionable setting was the ideal time for Yap to announce plans for the opening of Fashion Avenue, the mall’s newest lifestyle precinct, in September 2012. Event sponsors including GH Mumm, the official champagne of the F1, Shu Uemura, Miko Galere and Symphony Illuminate were also acknowledged.
