Yes Launches “Artist of the Month” Program, To Showcase Local Music Talents
Yes, one of the most advanced 4G networks in the world, announced the launch of “Yes Artist of the Month” last week, a program crafted to give up-and-coming independent local musicians and bands a platform to showcase their talent. Independent talent will be handpicked to play live at the Yes Flagship Store in Lot 10 on a regular basis.
Yes organised a pilot showcase in July 2011 that featured eclectic local independent band Pesawat. Due to overwhelming and encouraging response the showcase garnered, the 4G operator decided to make the event a regular fixture to pro-actively promote Malaysia’s thriving independent music scene.
“Yes Artist of the Month” kicked off last Saturday, February 18 at the Yes Flagship Store in Lot 10, Kuala Lumpur where the talented Liyana Fizi and indie band the Azenders performed.

KUALA LUMPUR — February 16, 2012 — Yes, one of the most advanced 4G networks in the world, is proud to announce the launch of “Yes Artist of the Month”, program specifically created to give rising independent local musicians and bands a prominent platform to showcase their talent.
The program will feature handpicked independent local artists and bands that will play live at the Yes Flagship Store in Lot 10 on a regular basis. The showcase is free for the public.
The “Yes Artist of the Month” showcase aims to be the platform that places talented local independent acts to the mainstream forefront while at the same time bringing the general public closer to Malaysia’s thriving independent music scene.
“The Malaysian independent music scene is bursting at the seams with talents that have global potential but right now it lacks exposure and that’s the motivation that led us to create the ‘Artist of the Month’ program. We pick quality fresh acts from the local independent scene and give them a platform where they can bring their music to the forefront. The Yes Flagship Store in Lot 10 is the perfect venue for this because of the wonderful and conducive ambiance, and the large amount of foot traffic that the store receives daily. In July 2011, Yes organised a pilot showcase that featured eclectic local independent band Pesawat. “Yes Artist of the Month” kicks-off this Saturday, February 18 at 3pm at the Yes Flagship Store in Lot 10, Kuala Lumpur. The showcase will feature the mesmerising sounds of Liyana Fizi together with the fast-rising indie band the Azenders. Entry is free for everyone.
