[Sneak Peak] Samsung GALAXY Tab 7 Plus

Samsung GALAXY Tab 7 Plus

Pretty maids all in a row: Samsung GALAXY Tab 7 Plus

The Samsung GALAXY Tab 7 has been rebooted as the GALAXY Tab 7 Plus bringing some positive changes to Samsung’s smallest tablet in its repertoire (not counting the hybrid smartphone/tablet GALAXY Note, of course). We’ve been playing with it for a few days and we thought we’d release some sneak peak images (and video coming) before we give you a full review. Read on.

Samsung GALAXY Tab 7 Plus

The Tab 7 Plus runs the latest Google Android HoneyComb release, which is v3.2, sugar-coated with Samsung’s TouchWIZ 4.0. You’ll be chuffed to know that it is powered by Samsung’s dual-core 1.2Ghz Exynos processor with a generous 1GB of RAM and 16/32GB storage. And unlike its bigger brethren, comes with a MicroSD slot. The unreleased units we have in possession are 3G/WiFi units which support telephony (yes you can make calls with them!). The 7″ PLS (Plane-to-Line-Switching) LCD supports a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, and offers better viewing angles plus is brighter than IPS-type displays like the  iPad/iPad 2. Two cameras are included with the Tab 7 Plus – a 3.15MP rear facing with LED flash and a 2MP front-facing camera.

The GALAXY Tab 7 Plus is expected to be available in 2 weeks priced at RM1,699 (via MalaysianWireless) and should be made available by major telcos.

Samsung is definitely trying to conquer the phone/tablet market with so many offerings. This is a great substitute for their original Tab and its definitely priced competitively. Cant wait for the full review. By the way saw it today at the Samsung store in Gardens for RM 1,699

Personally I think they got the formula right, with the Galaxy S2. With their marketing muscle and overall good execution, they’re the one to beat in this market. Apple still has strangehold on the tablets but things are changing.

I really do like the Tab 7 Plus. Has some bugs but that should be ironed out. Can’t wait for it to run ICS!
