Come this Saturday, November 12 2011, local award-winning rapper, entertainer, songwriter, producer and TV host – Altimet will be setting Sepang Circuit on fire with an exclusive performance during the popular grassroots racing event – Saturday Night Fever (SNF) Series, now in its 7th installment dubbed “SNF Round 7”. Formerly of Teh Tarik Crew, Altimet recently released his third studio album entitled “Kotarayaku” which features artistes such as Joeniar Arief (Indonesia), Mirwana (Malaysia), Terry Lee (Singapore/Taiwan) and Noh Hujan (Malaysia). If you’ve been listening to the airwaves, his current top hit is “Syukur”.

Saturday Night Fever (SNF) has gained popularity and tremendous support from motorsports enthusiasts all over Malaysia since its humble beginnings last year. Founded, managed and promoted by Ignition.my, an organisation driven to rebuild and promote grassroots motorsports interest and participation, SNF rekindles the spirit of the original Saturday night races at the now defunct Batu Tiga Speedway. SNF offers a safe, affordable, adrenaline-rushed, fun-filled environment for motorsports enthusiasts to enjoy and compete in. SNF promotes very exciting close racing and enables participants to get started in circuit racing with very little money.

I’ve personally participated in SNF Round 1, driving my cousin’s 1983 4AGE-powered Corolla LE and I can tell you this – it’s engaging, fun and absolutely affordable!

To further reduce cost of entry and participants, SNF works with industry partners to drive costs of equipment like rollcages, racing suits and gloves and tires down. In its efforts to make racing even safer, SNF will be upgrading to AAM Club-level status by 2012.

If you haven’t participated or watched SNF, now is the perfect time to do so! Ticket prices for SNF are at only RM 30 for Paddock and RM 10 for Grandstand. An event not to be missed, surely!
